TIPS ON HOW TO GET MONEY AND EXPERIENCE IN BAKING LIFE. QUICKLY

By following these simple steps, I reached level 23 in 6 days. Please feel free to share this, or to add more tips of your own at the bottom.

Experience Tips:

* Make "Baked Donuts". Lots of them. If you have enough money, it's worth baking then deleting them. You get 63 exp points doing that, and it only costs 350. [**Update. Independence cakes are better as you get 81 points and it costs 350 too**]
* Keep baking. You need to have a good mix of money-to-experience point products.

Money making tips:

* Sell Lemon meringues. I make meringues in all but one of my ovens (which I keep for baking and deleting donuts). Share with friends to get extra portions. You will get 1895 profit per serving (if you have 105). You will get more if you share with your friends.
* Use Baking Life Checker to look for gifts. I normally click on all of the lemon meringue gifts, as well as parisian macaroons, which fare quite well.
* Work at your friends' shops. You will get 750 (450 in tips) when you visit them daily.
* Add lots of friends. Handy for gifts and money. I prefer to add less experienced friends as they have smaller and less complicated bakeries.
* Max your hype. A cheap ways of doing this is to adopt kittens/puppies and place them in your bakery

Baking Life Etiquette:

* Remove old posts on your wall i.e. once you've finished an expansion or a job has been taken. I do this out of common courtesy, and so you won't be wasting your friends' time.
* Send gifts back to friends that send them to you.
* Don't send cupcakes. Well, don't send the cheap ones. I find it quite annoying when I receive them, I know sometimes its the thought that counts, but other cakes would be more appreciated. (Less of an etiquette lesson, more of a tip)

Random Tips:

* Keep your cashier staff stationary. They do not have to be able to get to the display cases to serve customers. This improves on your serving time, and customers leave happy.
* Split your bakery into sections. When your bakery is of a certain size, it is best to section off a cashier area and the seating area. This way, your waitresses will be working only in the seating area, and not cleaning up around the cashier area.
* Block your ovens off. This way your character won't have to move around when baking, saving time. You can do this with any floor decor that you want.

The Baking Life Game On Facebook

One of my Facebook mates introduced me to this new Facebook app called Baking Life of ZipZapPlay. Baking Life opened its doors to Facebook players on the 1st of May [2010] and yours truly was one of the curious ones who tried it out at once.

Baking Life has a lot of similarities with Café World so if you have tried playing [or is still playing] Café World then starting your own virtual bakeshop in Baking Life isn't that difficult at all.

So basically, all you need to do to start playing this game is to:

* allow Baking Life to access your Facebook account
* choose what you want to bake from the Recipe Book
* mix the ingredients
* wait for some time until your cake/cookies/bread is baked
* collect the baked goodies and have it on display
* wait for the customers to drop by and buy some of your baked goods
* earn coins
* clean your oven and prepare it for your next baking session
* ... and that's it!

Do not worry, if you do not feel confident enough to run your bakery, ZipZapPlay has a tutorial for you right after opening your very own virtual bakeshop. So, better not miss that!
You can add some more ovens, cash registers and display cases in your bakery however, you can not do this anytime you want to. You need to reach a certain level in order to unlock an additional oven, a cash register or a display.

Just like the major appliances, some of the recipes are also locked. In order to unlock them, you will have to reach a certain level. Do not worry, the levels required are listed below each recipe.

Aside from earning coins through customer purchases, you can also collect 300 coins by visiting your neighbors' bakeries. Look for a coin back located on their cash register and click on it. A 300 coin is instantly added to your account. So, the more neighbors you have, the more bonus coins you'll be collecting each day. If you are having trouble looking for new neighbors, go to this page and click on the view all comments link. There you will find a lot of Facebookers looking for new Baking Life neighbors ... just like you!
Do not forget to hire some friends to work for you in order to cut off on wage costs!

Just like most Facebook games, you can still leave the game after displaying your newly baked goods and still earn coins. You can go on with your regular life while keeping your virtual bakery at Baking Life running.

Facebook Baking Life Money Hack

Earn More for Your Baked Goods With Style Points in Baking Life

Style Points are a new addition to Baking Life that allow you to increase how much your customers pay for your services. The premise is simple: the more stylish your bakery, the more money people will want to pay to eat there.
Your style rating can be found on the right of your screen, beneath the hype rating. You can raise your style rating by redecorating your bakery. When you browse objects in the store now, you’ll notice a little orange badge in the bottom right corner of each preview. This tells you how many style points the object is worth. The higher your style rating, the more money you’ll make from customers, so don’t let that rating stay at 0. There are some new decorations in the store under Floor Decor and Wall Decor with fairly hefty style point increases, so check them out while you’re redecorating. Head over to Baking Life now to redecorate and increase your profits!

Facebook Game Review: Baking Life

Baking Life Basics
Rating Good

Baking LifeRunning a restaurant on Facebook has become one of the popular game genres with titles such as Café World and Restaurant City. Baking Life takes the restaurant genre and puts it into a bakery setting. In the game you get to run your own bakery and create treats for your patrons. You have many different products to choose from such as pies, muffins, cakes, and even a customizable cupcake recipe. The game is simple enough use a countertop to make your recipe and pop it into the oven to bake. You need to be careful not to let the product go over the cooking time or it will burn. Once it is ready take it out of the oven and your workers will place it on the counters for sale to your patrons. As you sell your baked goods you can use that money to upgrade your bakery with tables, chairs, and decorations.

Your First Recipes
Rating Good

Baking LifeOne of the very first things you can make is cinnamon rolls. This item will take five minutes to bake so you can’t leave it for too long after its ready before serving it or it will burn and you will not make any coins. Rolls will provide you with thirteen servings and you will earn four coins for each serving. This isn’t much but it’s a good place to start in the game. Another great starter recipe is the lemon poppy seed muffins which will earn you ninety-five coins total. As you level up more recipes with higher profit margins will become available for your bakery.

Your Workers
Rating Average

You start the game with some free workers and you can play the game with them for as long as you like. If you have Facebook friends you can hire them instead to work in your bakery which will reduce your overall wages you need to pay your employees. Having friends as workers can save you lots of money in the beginning stages of the game. You also need friends as workers to help your bakery expand past the first few levels. Your friends can get hired by clicking the “help wanted” in your Facebook feed. You should be able to hire friends from within the game and not through your Facebook game feed. This design choice is not the best option to get friends playing.

Decorating Your Store
Rating Below Average

The game has limited decorative options at this point in the game. There are different colored stoves, cash registers and display cases that can be added to your shop. You have wall, floor, and other decorations but not a lot of options yet. The game has recently added tables and chairs so your quests have a place to sit in your shop. To add more ovens you need to be at the right level and add a gas line which can be purchased in the game store. Hopefully soon the developers will add more decorative options for your bakery.

Conclusion

Baking Life is a decent Facebook game but doesn’t add anything new to the restaurant genre. The game looks good but needs to add more decorative options. Making your Facebook friends click a link in your Facebook feed to get hired in your bakery is not the best design option. A player should be able to hire friends directly from the game and not spam people with hiring messages.
