One of my Facebook mates introduced me to this new Facebook app called Baking Life of ZipZapPlay. Baking Life opened its doors to Facebook players on the 1st of May [2010] and yours truly was one of the curious ones who tried it out at once.
Baking Life has a lot of similarities with Café World so if you have tried playing [or is still playing] Café World then starting your own virtual bakeshop in Baking Life isn't that difficult at all.
So basically, all you need to do to start playing this game is to:
* allow Baking Life to access your Facebook account
* choose what you want to bake from the Recipe Book
* mix the ingredients
* wait for some time until your cake/cookies/bread is baked
* collect the baked goodies and have it on display
* wait for the customers to drop by and buy some of your baked goods
* earn coins
* clean your oven and prepare it for your next baking session
* ... and that's it!
Do not worry, if you do not feel confident enough to run your bakery, ZipZapPlay has a tutorial for you right after opening your very own virtual bakeshop. So, better not miss that!
You can add some more ovens, cash registers and display cases in your bakery however, you can not do this anytime you want to. You need to reach a certain level in order to unlock an additional oven, a cash register or a display.
Just like the major appliances, some of the recipes are also locked. In order to unlock them, you will have to reach a certain level. Do not worry, the levels required are listed below each recipe.
Aside from earning coins through customer purchases, you can also collect 300 coins by visiting your neighbors' bakeries. Look for a coin back located on their cash register and click on it. A 300 coin is instantly added to your account. So, the more neighbors you have, the more bonus coins you'll be collecting each day. If you are having trouble looking for new neighbors, go to this page and click on the view all comments link. There you will find a lot of Facebookers looking for new Baking Life neighbors ... just like you!
Do not forget to hire some friends to work for you in order to cut off on wage costs!
Just like most Facebook games, you can still leave the game after displaying your newly baked goods and still earn coins. You can go on with your regular life while keeping your virtual bakery at Baking Life running.
